Red Wing Shoes
The Red Wing Shoe Company was founded in 1905 by German immigrant Charles H. Beckman in Red Wing, Minnesota. Red Wing's first-year work boot was made of leather and featured buckles and laces for a secure fit. With the introduction of shoes for oilfield workers, Red Wing began developing specialized work boots in the 1920s to meet the specific occupational requirements of the time. In the 1940s, it introduced its first mobile shoe sales service, allowing working professionals to purchase shoes at their workplace. In 1952, one of its icons, the "Irish Setter," was introduced. It is still produced today. A second factory was opened in Red Wing in 1964, just five kilometers from the original production site. In 1987, the S.B. Foot Tanning Co., founded in 1872, was acquired. In 2016, the Women's Heritage Collection was introduced.
Today, Red Wing Heritage continues to build on the storied legacy of the Red Wing Shoe Company with traditional construction and timeless design. The result is footwear proudly made to create lasting quality.
