Solid, warm, and windproof - Iron Heart's 12oz Slubby Heavy Flannel (SHF) shirts share the same qualities their signature Ultra Heavy Flannels are known for. However, since the fabric is woven from slub yarn cotton, this emphasizes the texture, creating a much more uneven feel compared to Iron Heart's traditional flannel fabrics. While the front of the fabric is full of character and rugged charm, the back has been double-brushed to design a very soft, cozy flannel shirt.
This cut is designed as an overshirt and is ideal for winter layering, to be worn either as an outer or mid-layer. Like the traditional work shirt, the cut includes classic patch chest pockets (complete with pen holder) and full button closures. The difference lies in the looser fit, straight hem, and split side seam gussets, which are more characteristic of mechanic shirts. Take your normal size for layering or a casual, loose fit, or one size smaller for a more fitted silhouette.
