B-07 RELAXED STRAIGHT 14 oz. Forties Era Selvedge

The B-07 RELAXED STRAIGHT is based on the same cut as the B-04 RELAXED TAPERED but has a new leg shape – instead of a tapered shape, it has a straight silhouette. Like the B-04, the B-07 also has an angled cut, which creates an above-average difference between the front and back rise, ensuring a comfortable and relaxed fit at the hip. The B-07 RELAXED STRAIGHT is the widest pair of jeans in the Benzak collection.

The 14 oz selvedge denim stands out with its special character and interesting details. It was faithfully reproduced from vintage denim from the 1940s, both in terms of indigo shade and construction. Denim from that era was usually not pre-washed – just like our version. The problem with unwashed denim is that it can shrink up to 10% after the first wash. That's why Benzak pre-washed the garments at the factory and adjusted the pattern so that they have the correct measurements after the first wash. This way, you can order your usual size and don't have to worry about shrinkage. Unwashed, the fabric weighs approximately 12 oz per square yard. However, due to shrinkage after washing, the weight increases to 14 oz per square yard, as the fibers contract and move closer together. This means more yarn is on the same square yard, which gives the fabric a stiff feel despite being washed. The 14 oz selvedge denim was woven by Collect Mills in Japan.
