The 1947 Roamer Pant by Pike Brothers – designed for a life in the saddle. The 1947 Roamer Pant is a classic example of denim trousers from the late 1940s. The special feature of these trousers is the higher waistband at the back and wider thighs. This creates a very comfortable cut that ensures optimal freedom of movement.The 1940s brought a lot of movement into the cuts of work trousers. Originally, jeans were intended as overpants and were cut accordingly wide. However, this changed fundamentally with the Second World War and the associated material savings. Trousers were produced narrower and more fitted. After the war, the trend towards narrower cuts continued, and more specific cuts were developed for different occupational groups. The 1947 Roamer Pant is a typical example of this development. It was originally a work pant, but with slight changes in the cut, it was adapted to the needs of cowboys.
Pike Brothers have their 15oz Selvedge Denim manufactured on old shuttle looms. The looms were lovingly restored years ago and are now back in service to produce denim as it was common at the beginning of the last century. This denim fabric is designed to be durable and robust. The quality feature is the colored selvedge edge, which is visible when the trousers are turned up.
